Joseph M. Shafran

In 1975, Joseph Shafran set out to develop and operate neighborhood shopping centers in Ohio and contiguous states, leading to the founding of Paran Management Company. Under his guidance and vision, the company grew to own and operate multi-residential apartments, a boutique hotel, and in excess of one million square feet of commercial space.
In addition to his responsibilities at Paran, Mr. Shafran was a Founding Director of a commercial bank, and the developer of Glidden House, a boutique hotel, located in a restored 80-year-old mansion at University Circle in Cleveland. Today, Mr. Shafran stands as CEO and Chairman of Paran, supporting his talented team and guiding the firm’s direction. He is active in numerous professional and civic organizations and is an officer or trustee of several organizations, including University Circle, Inc., the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and a local school board.
In his free time, he stays active by skiing, biking, and traveling while spending his downtime with his family or reading.
